Evelyn Mecca
Life began living on the upper East side of Buffalo. On foot, we had easy access to many cultural
things along and on Main St. The theaters like the Shea's Buffalo all decorated in red velvet had a
beauty all of its own. Next came the Stage shows such as the Town Casino, the Erlanger and the Chez Ami.
All live entertainment. All a form of art. Next were the buildings. The U.S. Post office building now
houseing the Erie Community College was a sight to see. The library has beenn renovated into something
even more spectaculer. This is where my inspiration came from.
About six years ago I decided to try and put all that beauty, in some form, on paper. I discovered an
art class right in my own neighborhood. We are a club now and enjoy sharing our art work and sometimes
display them. I haven't captured the theatres and buildings yet but I have in other forms of beauty. I
am a novice, no formal art schooling but I love to dabble mostly in acrylics. Hope you enjoy.
